Through your gift to Refugee Resources, we have the joy of sharing Christ’s love, developing literacy skills, and growing mentor relationships. With your generosity, we can partner together to see lives transformed one child at a time!
We feel overwhelmed at the goodness of our Lord as we reflect on what He has done in the lives of Benneh Day, Juliana, and Rudh Raj. These students are our most advanced participants and each one has demonstrated resilience, persistence, dedication, and consistency through their journeys.
Benneh Day is our most advanced student in the Reading Circle program. He is currently in 9th grade but reads with the fluency and comprehension of an 11-12th grade student. Benneh’s mentor, Miles, reflects on how he has seen Benneh grow not just academically, but personally and spiritually as well: “Not only have I gotten to watch Benneh’s reading skills flourish, but I have also had the honor of seeing and helping him learn more about his faith… It encourages me to see his faith become more developed, but teaching him has helped me develop my own faith as well.” It is with your generosity that we can continue serving students like Benneh Day
Juliana started with the Reading Circle program as a non-reader in July 2015 and struggled for many months before seeing any growth. After many years of hard work, Juliana is now in tenth grade and is the second-most advanced student in our program. She is now reading above her grade level and has dreams of going to college to become a nurse. We cannot wait to see where life is going to take her!
Rudh Raj first started participating in Reading Circle about six years ago. Reflecting on his time in the program, Rudh Raj shared with his mentor, Matt, that what’s helped him remain resilient and persistent in the program are the relationships he’s formed. At Refugee Resources, we know how important it is to foster relationships with our students as we mentor them. We’re grateful for caring volunteers like Matt who invest in students’ lives!
Your gift transforms students' lives, one child at a time. We know that it is only through the Lord’s mercy and goodness that we have been given this sweet opportunity to join in and be in the front-row seats of the work our God is doing within the Dallas refugee community. We thank the Lord that He continues to extend to us a multitude of little ones from the nations, who we can serve as His hands, feet, and mouth-piece. We are abundantly grateful for a good God who loves us and out of that love, sent His one and only Son to die for our sins so that we could be redeemed and then join in His work of bringing His kingdom to earth. We rejoice that someday He is coming again to wipe away every tear, right every wrong, and heal every hurt. In the meantime, we strive to continually work diligently to share His love and message of hope and redemption with the nations.
We are grateful for your generosity and partnership in prayer as we serve the refugee community of Dallas.
